Auto-tuned vocals are as synonymous with trap as 808’s and intimidating face tattoos. It’s an essential tool, for both a mild pitch-correction or an over-the-top T-Pain vibe. Antares Auto-Tune Pro is quite simply the best pitch correction plug-in on the market today.
Auto-Tune Pro’s interface is astutely clear, with large keys and a note indicator in your sights. It features 3 modes: auto mode for real time corrections, graph mode for detailed editing, and classic mode for an Auto-Tune 5 algorithm. Auto-Tune Pro also includes key and scale detection, flex tune and humanize for setting transparency, as well as a throat modelling replication.

Video vegas for mac. To round off the paid portion of this list, I have Cableguys with HalfTime. It’s a time manipulation effect which has been used by a plethora of big-name producers such as Nard and B (Future, Migos) and Hussein of 808 Mafia (Young Thug, Riff Raff).
HalfTime’s GUI is pleasantly glossy; although at a first glance it may seem feature bare, it soon reveals itself as an extremely powerful plugin.
Loop lengths between 1/16 and 8 bars can be chosen, and it features 3 speed modes: 2x, 1.5x, and 4x. HalfTime features a band pass filter, a smooth dial which can do everything from click prevention to a rhythmic fluttering sound, and a dry/wet knob which yields surprisingly amazing results.

This plugin does not generate any sound itself; it must be fed by another instrument. Ripchord comes with basic MIDI chord progressions, but what’s really cool is that there’s community presets available to download; progressions from artists like Travis Scott and Juice WRLD can now be played and rearranged with just the poke of your index.

Iota Mini also features 60 drum samples with adjustable panning and levels for each individual part of your kit. Its standout feature are the sounds themselves, AngelicVibes have really provided an instant avalanche of Atlanta awesomeness with this one.

Dexed’s GUI is a bit dull looks wise and the number of parameters is quite overwhelming at first (144 in total), but after some getting used to this synth starts creating amazing sounds. 6 oscillators can be used with automatable controls such as modulate, detune, and coarse. If you are a synth noob but desperately need that DX7 sound, don’t get vexed.
Dexed has a plethora of pre-sets available online to play through its cartridge system, which can store up to 32 patches at once.

I take you on a trip to the carnival now with Freakshow Industries’ Backmask! It’s a reverser plugin which is perfect for sprucing up your cymbals or creating darkly unique transitions. This plug-in can create sounds so spooky it would give the heebie-jeebies to Hannibal Lector himself.
Backmask’s interface is delightfully disturbing; all features are unlabeled at first, but when you hit the question mark button all secrets are revealed. There are 6 reversing trigger types available: note value, millisecond, gate, all, alternate, and random. Backmask also features a stuck mode which will freeze your audio for some repulsive reversed repetitions.

Auto-Tune Pro’s interface is astutely clear, with large keys and a note indicator in your sights. TrackGod is another plugin in the same vein as Octave and HermeSynth, it’s a sample based VST designed specifically for trap music. TrackGod has some excellent sounds which have been used by names such as Atlanta artist/producer Russ and TM88 (Gucci Mane, Future).
TrackGod’s GUI features a pleasant color combination of matte black and neon green. It gives you control over: reverb, delay, high and low-pass filters, an ADSR envelope, pluck, wobble, glide, legato, vibrato, and a mono switcher.
Parameter wise, TrackGod overtakes Octave and HermeSynth by a country mile. Sample wise, its keys and bass are a bit lackluster; it does however feature some of the evilest sounding bells any trap plug-in has on offer.
TrackGod comes as a 64-bit VST for Windows and Mac. Unfortunately, this plug-in doesn’t operate on Pro Tools. Godly tracks are going to cost $59.HalfTime
Video vegas for mac. To round off the paid portion of this list, I have Cableguys with HalfTime. It’s a time manipulation effect which has been used by a plethora of big-name producers such as Nard and B (Future, Migos) and Hussein of 808 Mafia (Young Thug, Riff Raff).
HalfTime’s GUI is pleasantly glossy; although at a first glance it may seem feature bare, it soon reveals itself as an extremely powerful plugin.
Loop lengths between 1/16 and 8 bars can be chosen, and it features 3 speed modes: 2x, 1.5x, and 4x. HalfTime features a band pass filter, a smooth dial which can do everything from click prevention to a rhythmic fluttering sound, and a dry/wet knob which yields surprisingly amazing results.

Surge is one of the best free synthesizers out today, it’s been celebrated by Roger Linn (Inventor of LM-1, MPC) who has even designed some patches for it. Once you get an earful of its brass sounds, the urge for Surge certainly won’t purge.

Ripchord’s GUI keeps it simple, showing you 2 keyboard visualisations: one for input and one for output.
This plugin does not generate any sound itself; it must be fed by another instrument. Ripchord comes with basic MIDI chord progressions, but what’s really cool is that there’s community presets available to download; progressions from artists like Travis Scott and Juice WRLD can now be played and rearranged with just the poke of your index.

Iota Mini’s GUI is bland, but it’s crazy simple to learn, with just 4 dials to twist: reverb, a low-pass filter, attack, and release. It features 50 presets including: keys, bells, pads, and guitars.
Iota Mini also features 60 drum samples with adjustable panning and levels for each individual part of your kit. Its standout feature are the sounds themselves, AngelicVibes have really provided an instant avalanche of Atlanta awesomeness with this one.

Mautopan’s GUI has surprisingly detailed visualizations for a free plugin, with large graphs and meters on display. You can sync your panning to either be note value dependent or to a Hz rate.
Mautopan uses oscillators to modulate your panning with changeable wave shapes: sine, square, triangle, rectangle, saw, and many more are on offer. Mautopan allows for incredibly detailed editing of these shapes and features a highly customizable step sequencer.

A band-pass filter and a gate are also on offer, so your pitch correction can be frequency or amplitude dependent.

Dexed is an excellent software reincarnation; it captures the nice and icy vibe of the DX7 perfectly.
Dexed’s GUI is a bit dull looks wise and the number of parameters is quite overwhelming at first (144 in total), but after some getting used to this synth starts creating amazing sounds. 6 oscillators can be used with automatable controls such as modulate, detune, and coarse. If you are a synth noob but desperately need that DX7 sound, don’t get vexed.
Dexed has a plethora of pre-sets available online to play through its cartridge system, which can store up to 32 patches at once.

I take you on a trip to the carnival now with Freakshow Industries’ Backmask! It’s a reverser plugin which is perfect for sprucing up your cymbals or creating darkly unique transitions. This plug-in can create sounds so spooky it would give the heebie-jeebies to Hannibal Lector himself.
Backmask’s interface is delightfully disturbing; all features are unlabeled at first, but when you hit the question mark button all secrets are revealed. There are 6 reversing trigger types available: note value, millisecond, gate, all, alternate, and random. Backmask also features a stuck mode which will freeze your audio for some repulsive reversed repetitions.

I round of this list with Spitfire Audio’s Labs, a massive collection of VSTs that feature excellent samples of excellent musicians, playing excellent instruments, in excellent rooms, that were recorded with excellent microphones… So it’s just a tad bit on the excellent side! Labs suits a variety of genres; but its pads and strings could take any small-town trap tinkerer into the big league.

Simply said, the 2021 Yosemite Region Photo Contest was a resounding success — in so many ways! Firstly, it gave us something to “focus” on (sorry for the pun) while the “stay-at-home” orders limited just about any other activity. Secondly, the sheer number of submissions, the enthuisam that imbibed each and every photogram, the pride reflected in every Porsche and the truly high quality of images were laudable. All that was necessary was “your” Porsche, some time and almost any camera. In fact, most of the entries were taken with a mobile device, e.g. iPhone, etc. Zone 7 Representative, Collin Fat (one of our judges) was astonished with the quality of the entries.

The winner of our Yosemite Region’ 2021 Photo Contest is Kathryn Enos.
Kathryn said that she was “inspired” to go out and do a photo shoot when she saw her car as an advertising prop for the contest on the website. She waited till Jan 25th and the “big snow storm” to provid the perfect backdrop to photograph her (cherished) silver 356 in a “winter wonderland” setting. While the image appears to be black & white, but it is a color photograph, taken with an iPhone 6s (you can see the color in the “Porsche” and the crest on the front.) The gray scale tones provides an almost old school photographic feeling.

Bill also took time to stage and take this image. “Mirror-ing” a car’s image off a wet road is a great technique — often used by the best photographers (recall that Michael Ross used this technique as part of his iPhone or SLR examples in “How to Photograph Cars” Tech Tactics). It takes time/patience, diligence and work to get it right.
Also, Bill’s composition was careful to give the reflection equal weight to the composition — a true “mirror image”! His Cayman’s Speed Yellow color helps amp up the color content of the photo.Third Place: Lissa Mazza
The Third Place finisher is Lissa Mazza with a wonderful, moody photograph of the Mazza’s Carrera S at the ocean.
The competition for third place was fierce! What sealed the deal for Lissa was her composition and “mood” of the photograph. The gray sky and dark blue/gray ocean, the light playing on the side and rear fender of the black Carrera created a “pensive mood” that drew you into the photograph. The car was an integral part of, but did not dominate the image (good use of the “rule of thirds” for composition!).
There were several other entries that featured the ocean as a background, but Lissa’s image best used the setting to set a “feeling”.“Honorable Mention Awards”
Once you see all the entries, I am sure that you will agree that there were a number of entries that were really, really good — for a number of and differenet reasons. Things have proceeded remarkably smoothly since version 10.7 switched to download-only installers, but there are still good reasons to want an old, reliable USB stick. For instance, if you find yourself doing multiple installs, a USB drive may be faster than multiple downloads (especially if you use a USB 3.0 drive). Or maybe you need a recovery disk for older Macs that don’t support the Internet Recovery feature. Whatever the reason, you’re in luck, because it’s not hard to make one.
As with last year, there are two ways to get it done. There’s the super easy way with the graphical user interface and the only slightly less easy way that requires some light Terminal use. Here’s what you need to get started.
*A Mac, duh. We’ve created Yosemite USB from both Mavericks and Yosemite, but your experience with other versions may vary.
*An 8GB or larger USB flash drive or an 8GB or larger partition on some other kind of external drive. For newer Macs, use a USB 3.0 drive—it makes things significantly faster.
*The OS X 10.10 Yosemite installer from the Mac App Store in your Applications folder. The installer will delete itself when you install the operating system, but it can be re-downloaded if necessary.
*If you want a GUI, you need the latest version of Diskmaker X app—we wrote this article based on version 4 beta 2, but if a ’final’ version is released alongside Yosemite we’ll update the article. This app is free to download, but the creator accepts donations if you want to support his efforts.
*An administrator account on the Mac you’re using to create the disk.The easy way
Once you’ve obtained all of the necessary materials, connect the USB drive to your Mac and run the Diskmaker X app. The app will offer to make installers for OS X 10.8, 10.9, and 10.10, but we’re only interested in Yosemite today.Advertisement
Diskmaker X has actually been around since the days of OS X 10.7 (it was previously known as Lion Diskmaker), but it’s more important now because Apple has made alterations to the installer that prevent easy USB drive creation using the built-in Disk Utility app. It’s still possible to create a disk manually using a Terminal command (which we’ll go into momentarily), but Diskmaker X presents an easy GUI-based way to do it that is less intimidating to most people.Yosemite Zone Iso Mirror Lake
Select OS X 10.10 in Diskmaker X, and the app should automatically find the copy you’ve downloaded to your Applications folder. If it doesn’t detect the installer (or if you click ’Use another copy’), you can navigate to the specific installer you want to use. It will then ask you where you want to copy the files—click ’An 8GB USB thumb drive’ if you have a single drive to use or ’Another kind of disk’ to use a partition on a larger drive or some other kind of external drive. Choose your disk (or partition) from the list that appears, verify that you’d like to have the disk (or partition) erased, and then wait for the files to copy over. If you don’t want to use Diskmaker X, Apple has actually included a terminal command that can create an install disk for you. Assuming that you have the OS X Yosemite installer in your Applications folder and you have a Mac OS X Extended (Journaled)-formatted USB drive named ’Untitled’ mounted on the system, you can create a Yosemite install drive by typing the following command into the Terminal.

Simply said, the 2021 Yosemite Region Photo Contest was a resounding success — in so many ways! Firstly, it gave us something to “focus” on (sorry for the pun) while the “stay-at-home” orders limited just about any other activity. Secondly, the sheer number of submissions, the enthuisam that imbibed each and every photogram, the pride reflected in every Porsche and the truly high quality of images were laudable. All that was necessary was “your” Porsche, some time and almost any camera. In fact, most of the entries were taken with a mobile device, e.g. iPhone, etc. Zone 7 Representative, Collin Fat (one of our judges) was astonished with the quality of the entries.

The winner of our Yosemite Region’ 2021 Photo Contest is Kathryn Enos.
Kathryn said that she was “inspired” to go out and do a photo shoot when she saw her car as an advertising prop for the contest on the website. She waited till Jan 25th and the “big snow storm” to provid the perfect backdrop to photograph her (cherished) silver 356 in a “winter wonderland” setting. While the image appears to be black & white, but it is a color photograph, taken with an iPhone 6s (you can see the color in the “Porsche” and the crest on the front.) The gray scale tones provides an almost old school photographic feeling.

The debate between Mac and Windows is getting almost as polarized as our beloved Congress. Until recently, the bookkeeping world had managed to remain relatively immune to this debate, but with the increased market share of the Mac in the small business space, the question of QuickBooks for Windows vs QuickBooks for Mac has started taking more prominence.

At first glance, it should not be an issue: “If you are a Windows person, get QuickBooks for Windows. If you are a Mac person, get QuickBooks for Mac”. Unfortunately, it is more complicated than this. For the foreseeable future, selecting QuickBooks for Mac will handcuff you in several ways:
*QuickBooks for Mac has fewer features than the Windows versions
*The vast majority of CPAs and bookkeepers do not support QuickBooks for Mac
*Converting QuickBooks file back and forth between Mac and Windows doesn’t work well and can corrupt the data.
*QuickBooks for Mac doesn’t interface with as many 3rd party applications
I’ll expand a little bit on these items below, but if you own a Mac, your logical next question would be: “I am stuck then?”. Of course not. You have a number of options that will keep you in the QuickBooks world without having to switch to a PC:
*Accept the limitations of QuickBooks for Mac and stick with it. This is a very viable solution if you are a very small business, you don’t need 3rd party help and you have limited need for integration with 3rd party applications.
*Switch to QuickBooks Online, the web based version of QuickBooks
*Work with a QuickBooks hosting provider. From your Mac, you will get access to the full featured QuickBooks for Windows.
Fewer featuresIntuit is traditionally a Windows shop. They have had Mac developers for a long time, but the Mac development group is not tasked with feature innovation. Their charter is to “keep up” with QuickBooks for Windows. I am sure that many people with Intuit would violently disagree with this, but it is the unfortunate reality. Some examples:
*QuickBooks for Mac doesn’t have Premier and Enterprise versions. It has fewer features than even the Pro version of Windows.
*Fewer reports
*Fewer payroll options
*Limited inventory capabilities
*Online banking not as well integrated
Bookkeeping supportCPAs and bookkeepers need to maintain their own licenses of QuickBooks to support their clients. The whole accounting profession is pretty much standardized on the Windows platform. It would be too expensive for them to maintain a park of Mac hardware and QuickBooks for Mac licenses (across multiple years) to support Mac files.
Converting files between Mac and PCBoth the Windows and Mac versions of QuickBooks have the capability to convert the company file to the other OS. However, since the feature set is different, the converted file needs to restrict itself to the common denominator. As a result, some data doesn’t transfer from one version to the other. Also, to Intuit’s own admission, the conversion is not dependable. For instance, if you convert more than a couple of times back and forth, reconciliations of the bank accounts tend to disappear. Essentially, this conversion tool should be used only if you decide to migrate from one OS to the other for good, but it should not be used as a protocol to work with your bookkeeper or CPA on an on-going basis.
Integration with 3rd party applicationIn the last 5 years, the power of QuickBooks (and its dominance) has increased dramatically thanks to the myriad of 3rd party developers who have developed applications and services that integrate with QuickBooks. Unfortunately, the vast majority of this development effort has been done exclusively for the Windows version of QuickBooks. If you are on the QuickBooks for Mac, you only have access to a small subset of these developers. 5 to 10 years from now, I wouldn’t be surprised if there wasa bit more equality, assuming of course that the desktop version of QuickBooks hasn’t been supplanted by the cloud versions by then. However, as of today, QuickBooks for Mac is more “insulated”.
In summary, QuickBooks for Mac can be a very good option for you if your needs are relatively simple and you don’t need as much integration with the outside world (professionals and applications). The good news is that QuickBooks for Mac is not a dead-end. Bootcamp for mac cost. 4) QuickBooks for Mac does not allow for Integrated Payroll - you will need to purchase QuickBooks Payroll for Mac - separately, which is ’in the cloud’. Because it is not stored on your computer, you will need to export your payroll data to your computer each time you prepare payroll. You will also need to ensure that simple things, such as your employees names are spelled the same way in QuickBooks for Mac as well as QuickBooks Payroll for Mac on Intuit’s server during setup, in order to get your Payroll service to work accurately.
5) Multiple currency use cannot be implemented in QuickBooks for Mac.

Until recently, the bookkeeping world had managed to remain relatively immune to this debate, but with the increased market share of the Mac in the small business space, the question of QuickBooks for Windows vs QuickBooks for Mac has started taking more prominence.

At first glance, it should not be an issue: “If you are a Windows person, get QuickBooks for Windows. If you are a Mac person, get QuickBooks for Mac”. Unfortunately, it is more complicated than this. For the foreseeable future, selecting QuickBooks for Mac will handcuff you in several ways:
*QuickBooks for Mac has fewer features than the Windows versions
*The vast majority of CPAs and bookkeepers do not support QuickBooks for Mac

I’ll expand a little bit on these items below, but if you own a Mac, your logical next question would be: “I am stuck then?”. Of course not. You have a number of options that will keep you in the QuickBooks world without having to switch to a PC:
*Accept the limitations of QuickBooks for Mac and stick with it. This is a very viable solution if you are a very small business, you don’t need 3rd party help and you have limited need for integration with 3rd party applications.
*Switch to QuickBooks Online, the web based version of QuickBooks
*Work with a QuickBooks hosting provider. From your Mac, you will get access to the full featured QuickBooks for Windows.
Fewer featuresIntuit is traditionally a Windows shop. They have had Mac developers for a long time, but the Mac development group is not tasked with feature innovation. Their charter is to “keep up” with QuickBooks for Windows. I am sure that many people with Intuit would violently disagree with this, but it is the unfortunate reality. Some examples:
*QuickBooks for Mac doesn’t have Premier and Enterprise versions. It has fewer features than even the Pro version of Windows.
*Fewer reports
*Fewer payroll options
*Limited inventory capabilities
*Online banking not as well integrated
Bookkeeping supportCPAs and bookkeepers need to maintain their own licenses of QuickBooks to support their clients. The whole accounting profession is pretty much standardized on the Windows platform. It would be too expensive for them to maintain a park of Mac hardware and QuickBooks for Mac licenses (across multiple years) to support Mac files.
Converting files between Mac and PCBoth the Windows and Mac versions of QuickBooks have the capability to convert the company file to the other OS. However, since the feature set is different, the converted file needs to restrict itself to the common denominator. As a result, some data doesn’t transfer from one version to the other. Also, to Intuit’s own admission, the conversion is not dependable. For instance, if you convert more than a couple of times back and forth, reconciliations of the bank accounts tend to disappear. Essentially, this conversion tool should be used only if you decide to migrate from one OS to the other for good, but it should not be used as a protocol to work with your bookkeeper or CPA on an on-going basis.
Integration with 3rd party applicationIn the last 5 years, the power of QuickBooks (and its dominance) has increased dramatically thanks to the myriad of 3rd party developers who have developed applications and services that integrate with QuickBooks. Unfortunately, the vast majority of this development effort has been done exclusively for the Windows version of QuickBooks. If you are on the QuickBooks for Mac, you only have access to a small subset of these developers. 5 to 10 years from now, I wouldn’t be surprised if there wasa bit more equality, assuming of course that the desktop version of QuickBooks hasn’t been supplanted by the cloud versions by then. However, as of today, QuickBooks for Mac is more “insulated”.
In summary, QuickBooks for Mac can be a very good option for you if your needs are relatively simple and you don’t need as much integration with the outside world (professionals and applications). If you have a Mac Pro with more than one internal hard drive, you can select which drive to partition. If any of this makes you nervous, know that you can remove the Windows partition later and go back to a single-partition Mac.

Insert the Windows CD or a USB flash drive with the Windows ISO file and then click Start Installation.
If you exited Boot Camp Assistant before installing Windows, open it again, choose Start the Windows Installer, and click Continue.

When you’re asked to choose the Windows partition, select the partition that says BOOTCAMP.
You may have to scroll down to see it.
Don’t erase any partitions that you see or create a new partition here. Failure to heed this warning could wipe out your entire Mac OS X startup disk.

The new enhancements in Office 2019 are a subset of a long list of features that have been added to Office 365 ProPlus over the last three years. Office 2019 is a one-time release and won’t receive future feature updates. However, we’ll continue to add new features to Office 365 ProPlus monthly, including innovations in collaboration, artificial intelligence (AI), security, and more.
Office 2019 delivers features across apps to help users create amazing content in less time. In PowerPoint 2019, you can create cinematic presentations with new features like Morph and Zoom. And improved inking features across the apps in Windows—like the roaming pencil case, pressure sensitivity, and tilt effects—allow you to naturally create documents.
Excel 2019 adds powerful new data analysis features, including new formulas and charts and enhancements to PowerPivot.
